Skiing

"No matter how old you are, how fit you are and whether or not you have skied before, we promise you can have fun on cross-country skis."

Cross-country skiing

The routes and trails prepared for snowmobiling can be used just as well for skiing. With Adolfström as a starting point, you can easily ski in all different directions.

Follow the King's Trail north towards Pieljekaise National Park, in winter there is a ski trail through the national park that basically follows the route of the King's Trail, except over Lutaure where the winter trail takes a shortcut across the lake. There is an overnight cabin in the national park that is always open as a rest house. Keys to the bedrooms can be rented in Jäckvik and Adolfström. Within the national park there are three mountain peaks that invite you to hike to the top with a magnificent view of miles of mountains.

To the south, the King's Trail goes over the Yraft delta, through the protective birch forest and up towards the bare mountain and the Svaipa bird sanctuary. There is a permanent snowmobile ban in the area, but with skis on your feet, mile after mile of untouched mountain world lies before you.

Along the King's Trail, summer hikers are replaced by skiing "vitabanders". On the journey between Grövelsjön and Treriksröset, Adolfström becomes a suitable breathing space to stop at.

The Laisälven valley winds its way westwards. An exciting valley where animals and nature come close. On the south side of the river there is a permanent ban on snowmobiles, which means that you can meet the wilderness on your own with skis on your feet...

But you don't have to go that far to experience all the beauty. In the area around the village, volunteers try to maintain a ski trail, and the landowners encourage snowmobilers not to free ride in this area.

As the spring sun begins to warm up and the cold nights give the snow a supporting crust, skiing becomes easy even for the uninitiated. Gliding through the mountain birches on the skis is a wonderful feeling of freedom.

Let's go!

So hit the slopes, put your body to work and enjoy the snow-covered landscapes!
